We are delighted to announce that, following a successful “lunch and learn” session at Edwards Vacuum, Clevedon, Our Tide have received a generous donation of £500 for the 01 September 2026 workshop! This will help to ensure that the workshop remains free at point of delivery so that students signing up will not need to pay a penny to take part. We are very grateful for the support Edwards Vacuum have provided.
The lunch and learn was delivered to coincide with Edwards Vacuum’s day of action for the 2026 World Environment Day. Our Tide’s very own Brian Gribben and Iain Major delivered a talk that gave an overview of the very specific tidal circumstances in the Severn Estuary, how tidal energy is created, and how it can be harnessed. There was a chance for questions and there were some perceptive and interesting questions from the floor. We were also joined by Edwards Vacuum staff who were unable to be physically present by a live online link.
